A wonderful friend at church, Ms. Robin, made Mari a gingerbread house to decorate. Ms. Robin works in the baby nursery and watched James on Sundays until he could walk. She always raved about him and how much she loved his smile. She insisted on making my kids a gingerbread house (she used to make them to sell!) and it was so special. It meant so much to me because Ms. Robin has SO much going on at home. Her husband has terminal cancer and is moving to hospice. I told her over and over not to worry about making a gingerbread house for my kids, but she insisted and told me it brought her so much joy. Ms. Robin is such an example of a wonderful Christian woman. During this time she has also been such an example to me in teaching me that JOY and HAPPINESS are not the same. Happiness and sadness can come from our circumstances. I know that right now, Ms. Robin is heart broken. Despite that, her JOY just shines through, because she lives a life full of joy that only Christ can bring.
Thank you, Ms. Robin, not only for the gingerbread house but also for being a ray of light during this Christmas Season. Mari LOVED the gingerbread house, we loved decorating it with her, and look forward to doing many more in the future. We are praying for you and your family.
