Today we visited a fire station. It was the Kanda Fire Station, part of the Tokyo Fire Department. It surprised me how military like the department was structured. I gave them a Park Hills Fire Department patch and they were very grateful. They said they were going to put it in their display case (they have a Tokyo Fire Museum.) They don't use any type of patches on their uniforms.
Here you see the firefighters doing fitness training by running around the building.
The trucks were very small.
They said this large truck responded to the nuclear plant after the tsunami in March.

These firefighters were very helpful and showed us around. They told us they respond to about 10 fires a month.
It surprised me how small their gear was.
The Japanese fire station was really neat and very different than back in the states.
Fire pics look great :/
